Uses of low melting point alloys
Nov 10, 2021
Low melting point alloy, also known as fusible alloy, is a newly developed product. Its uses are:
1. Fusible alloys are widely used as solders;
2. Fusible alloys are used as fillers when bending metal pipes and machining precision parts;
3. Fusible alloys are used as inlays when making metallographic samples;
4. The fusible alloy is used for the plug of the automatic sprinkler system;
5. Fusible alloys are used in thermal components such as fuses and fuses in electrical appliances, steam, fire protection, fire alarm and other devices;
6. Fusible alloys are used in mold making, and the casting method is used to make molds to produce molds for special products. The molding cycle is short, the machining time is less, and the advantages are obvious;
7. Fusible alloys are used in medicine to make lead blocks for radiotherapy. Blocks with specific shapes made of low melting point alloys can effectively block normal human tissues during radiotherapy. Effectively improve the accuracy and safety of radiotherapy.
The use of low melting point fusible alloys to make molds also has the following advantages:
a, low melting point, easy to melt, easy to mold;
b. The alloy has high strength and long service life of the mold;
c. Good flow performance, strong filling ability after melting of the alloy, and clear mold formation;
d. The expansion and shrinkage rate of the alloy is small, which can ensure the accuracy of molding;
e. The alloy does not stick to the standard sample, and the mold parting is easy;
f. The alloy is non-toxic and does not pollute the environment;
g. The mold can be remelted when it is used up, and the alloy can be used repeatedly;
h. The mold is formed quickly, which can greatly reduce the mold stacking space.
