Application of aluminum alloy die-casting technology in the field of intelligent robots

Mar 26, 2025

At present, the robot industry is booming both at home and abroad, and robots are also penetrating from industrial manufacturing to medical, home services, education and entertainment and other fields. The overall development trend makes the lightweight and scale of robots the top problem that must be solved at present.

Aluminum alloys are used to manufacture robot joint shafts, planetary reducers, housings and other core transmission components due to their high strength and precise casting processing performance. For example, Lizhong Group's high-strength, human-free aluminum alloy has passed the European robot joint shaft verification, which can reduce processing costs and improve structural stability.

The density of aluminum alloy (2.63-2.85g/cm³) is significantly lower than that of steel, which can effectively reduce the weight of the robot body and improve movement speed and endurance. Innovative new materials are exploring the application of aluminum in components such as dexterous hands and reducer housings, using their thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance to optimize the stability of long-term operation of robots.

There are various types of aluminum alloy materials, and different materials can achieve the functional requirements of products through different processes such as die casting process, precision CNC machining . 6061 and 7075 are high-hardness aluminum alloy materials. Through CNC machining processing technology, they can be used to make high-strength frames of robots. A356, A380, ADC12 and other materials can be used for large-scale batch production of thin-walled shells or connectors through die-casting technology. The coordinated application of diversified materials fully covers the performance requirements of robots.
